Qatar ID (QID): reading the card and its 11-digit number

What is printed on a Qatar residence ID card, how the 11-digit QID number is commonly structured, and what Mahad OCR returns from it.

What is on the card

The Qatar ID card shows the holder’s name in Arabic and English, the 11-digit ID number, nationality, date of birth, expiry date and, on many cards, occupation. Labels are bilingual.

The 11-digit number

The Ministry of Interior does not publish a specification, but numbers are commonly observed to follow this pattern:

C YY NNN SSSSS

C century of birth (2 = 1900s, 3 = 2000s)
YY last two digits of the birth year
NNN three-digit nationality code (e.g. 634 = Qatar, 356 = India)
SSSSS serial number

Treat this as a useful sanity check in your own system, not as a rule the number must satisfy.

How Mahad OCR reads it

Upload the front of the card (and the back where you need its data). Mahad OCR returns full_name, the Arabic name where printed, document_number, nationality, date_of_birth and expiry_date. Each field is marked ✓ confirmed or ⚠ check it, with the evidence behind it; disputed, unreadable or missing fields go to human review.

Arabic and English names are returned as printed; transliteration between them is not performed. The number is read as printed and is not checked against any government register.
