Feature
Usage, Quotas and Audit History
Every document is metered, every quota enforced, every action recorded.
What is Usage, Quotas and Audit History in Mahad OCR?
Available now. Usage is counted per tenant and per API key. Input: Automatic on all activity. Limitation: Quotas reset monthly.
What it does
Usage is counted per tenant and per API key. Quota is enforced before processing — including for batches — and every significant action is written to a hash-chained audit log that cannot be edited silently.
How it works
- 1Quota checked before a document is accepted
- 2Over quota → HTTP 429 with a clear code
- 3Usage recorded per document
- 4Audit entry appended and hash-chained
Sample result
Illustrative response shape using synthetic data.
{ "error": { "code": "quota_exceeded", "message": "Monthly quota of 1500 documents reached" } }Supported inputs
Automatic on all activity.
Fields returned
- documents used vs monthly quota
- per-key usage
- billed and engine cost per document
- audit entries with actor, action and target
API
GET /v1/usage · GET /v1/billing
Security & privacy
The audit chain makes silent changes to history detectable.
Current limitations
Quotas reset monthly. Overage is charged per document above your plan rather than blocking, on paid plans.
